The solution

The UAPL was looking for a solution to house bulk grains — quinoa, in this case. The SHELTERALL® teams were able to meet its demand by offering a low-cost, durable storage tunnel instead of traditional buildings. This modular solution that can be easily dismantled and is foundation-free allows for short, medium and long-term storage in ideal preservation conditions.

For this project, seven 8 x 10.5 m SHELTERALL® tunnels were built on 56 concrete blocks to prevent impacts from the machinery. Acceptance of the quinoa bins, brought in by the farmers, is performed in them prior to processing in the plant. The partitioning of the sheds using concrete blocks encourages the creation of batches and the opening of the shed allows them to easily retrieve the stored products. Better product rotation is guaranteed.

SHELTERALL® stood out thanks to the quality of the product, the speed with which it is installed, and also its low price. This solution is cheaper than a metal-structure shed. It also stood out due to the options installed, adapted to suit the needs of the UAPL: lateral clearance for full use of the floor, a white interior tarpaulin and gables made of transparent panels to enhance brightness.

The UAPL, very happy with this service, ordered another 10 x 19.5 m SHELTERALL® to store its plant equipment.
