The solution

The SHELTERALL® teams completely fitted out the storage site

Two paired storage cells made up of 3 parallel walls formed of TOUTABLOC® concrete blocks were installed. Each of the 2 storage zones offers an operational space of 20 m x 32 m. This corresponds to a total storage capacity of 12,000 T of aggregate. The walls made of mobile concrete blocks are lined and bonded on three levels to strengthen the structure and meet the requirements of the Building Eurocodes standard.

The SHELTERALL 21 m model mounted on 4 m walls reaches a height at the ridge of 14 m, facilitating working under the shed roofs with any type of machinery.

The gables are open to enable the smooth flow of truck and loader traffic. Peter Gross Bau opted for sheds that are open on both sides to optimize drying (tunnel effect) and facilitate the recovery of stored materials.

With the aim of protecting asphalt from the elements, half-moons were also installed on each side of the tunnel buildings to protect the materials stored up to the edges of the storage area.

Our teams are experts in fitting out bulk storage areas and the SHELTERALL® teams were able to offer a turnkey solution that included designing, calculating and completing the project. As a result, Peter Gross Bau and Backes Bau were able to work with a single partner for a holistic approach to the project, with optimized project support and project follow-up, whilst appreciating the quick implementation of their project.

The options for this project

Success story
A word from the sales team

“We are proud to have supported the Peter Gross Bau group in these three projects at their asphalt plants. The modular design of the SHELTERALL® buildings made it possible to adapt to best suit the configuration and processes of each site. Structures made of trellis beams or single tubes, rear gables that are closed or enable machinery traffic, long or short storage cells: options specifically implemented for optimization purposes.”
