The solution

In 2017, an initial industrial building, 10 m wide and 400 m long, mounted on two rows of TOUTABLOC® concrete blocks, was installed on one of the tire test tracks.

The hangar was insulated along its entire length to guarantee a perfectly uniform level of humidity and temperature inside the test tunnel. The SHELTERALL®/TOUTABLOC® modular solution does not require foundations. This made it possible to retain the integrated sprinkler system, essential for simulating wet road conditions during braking tests.

Simply preparing the ground with compacted backfill reduced the overall cost of the project and enabled it to be installed very quickly. We were able to provide a guarantee to our customer regarding the strength of our structures, since our modular buildings comply with European construction standards and the Building Eurocodes. The calculations are made by our in-house Design Department and certified by the market’s competent inspection bodies.

The SHELTERALL®/TOUTABLOC® solution stands out thanks to its compliance with the Building Eurocodes and its foundation-free installation on concrete blocks. It was vital for this manufacturer to keep its test tracks active during the day. That is why our works supervisor adapted to the operating constraints, and the installation was carried out at night.

Fully satisfied with the SHELTERALL® solution, in 2020 the manufacturer installed a second tunnel, 10 m wide and 300 m long, on another test track that is used for different types of tests.

This project is a source of pride for the SHELTERALL® teams. This is the first time in Europe that a tire test track has been covered. These are the longest metal-textile buildings we have ever built.
